Chonquing

Hi, my name is Tong wong, and I live in the ancient tang dynasty, in Lijiang. It’s 700 a.d., and I am traveling along the Yangtze river from Lijiang to Chongqing. I start my journey at my home village, right on the river. The river helps us continue our lifes. It literally keeps our villages people living, since it supplies water and food. Nowadays, music and dancing is very popular. As I row away at the start of my journey, I can hear the distant sound of music from my home, even as I’m hundreds of feet away. My family loves music, and my sister has even been starting scroll painting. That is also very popular now as well. Art and literature are also very much encouraged in this time period. I have even started to learn to play the bells, a very popular instrument right now. As I flow upstream, I see a village ahead. This village was different though. People were salt mining in their village. Salt mining is a very dangerous thing to do, and most of the time it was done by slaves or prison labor. I could see it was salt mining because many workers were getting salt from the ground. Watching them, I felt bad for them. Salt mining is a very tretourus job. I decided to ask one of the miners if they liked salt mining. I asked man that looked older than the rest. He responded that “it is very hard, but we are known for how well we do it!”. I think that’s amazing.

Introduction Pilgrimage

Hello my name is Zhu. Wuhan is a 3,500 year old city with tons of history. I will be exploring the Yangtze from Wuhan to Nanjing. Wuhan is one of the most ancient cities. Cui Hao ( poet in the Tang dynasty) visited wuhan in 800AC. It is 838.6 km from wuhan to shanghai. I will be traveling by boat. I am excited to explore the many cultures and great nature of this amazing region. The first city i'll  be exploring is jiujiang. This great city literally means “nine rivers”. Jiujiang was a capital of many states. It was stuck right between Wu and Chu. jiujiang was also known as jiangzhou or Xunyang in earlier time periods. It was a little later a great source of tea trade. The next city i am going to is Hefei. It is a place with many tiny states. It is an important trading center. The tang dynasty said that the fei river off of hefei came from jiming mountain 20 Li away (Li is chinese miles). Hefei is known for its treasures from the three kingdoms times. The tang dynasty beat the han dynasty in a war and ruled for many centuries. After boating for many hours and exploring the rich history of the yangtze river i was ready to go hit the hay and sleep in till ten. After a huge day of adventuring through Hefei and Wuhan i am definitely tired. Goodnight to anyone reading this.

The journey of a farmer heading to Wuhan to Yichang

Hi my name is tingi flamir i am from the tang dynasty we are going to travel from Wuhan to Yichang. i live along the yangtze river and my house is made with the finest bamboo i work as a farmer and the yangtze river helps me keeps my job and my family well and healthy. My family was introduced to buddhism and we are going to follow the religions. My family and I thought of going on a trip to wuhan to sell our crops we are going to head there tomorrow. Ok let us start our journey to the wuhan I have heard it is very nice to sell crops to the people of wuhan. ok okil ,tilie, vitern, come on lets get in our carriage, ok here we go. they journeyed along the yangtze river until they came across there first stop. wow this area is a great place to sell crops i don’t think much people here are farmers so we are bound to get something. about 20 minutes later tingi and her family had gotten enough money to trade for water and some meat for their next stop. wow they did have some pretty good meat over there. Oh here we are about a mile further we will be at our final stop children ok? better start getting those crops ready to trade. 30 minutes later they came to last stop. im so exited to see all these new places. aren’t you guys exited for this, this was your first trip across to another country. The children seemed very happy. Oh yes we are here, children you better start getting the stand ready to sort our crops. at the end they sold all there crops and got new materials from their trades. and went home.
